"Ydrebygden" as the region is called, lays in the borderland between the swedish landscapes Småland and Östergötland, (Tiny Lands - Eastgothia)
on the north side of the southern Swedish highlands.

Here you find large forests with Pine and Spruce, but also from deciduous forest surrounding glittering clearwaterlakes and mountains.

The region has been inhabited since the stoneage and there are many exciting traces of man that we can tell you about.

The area in which we ride is a sparesly populated area of about 30.000 hectares, and there may pass days before we see another human being.
Our resting places often side a lake or an old farm-ruin.



IN the forests we ride, there are plenty of game, Moose, Roe Deer, Wild Boar, fox and Lynx. In the air, we have Golden Eagle, Eagle Owl, Osprey and Falcon among the preditors.

The inhabitants of the region have always been close to the Trolls, the Giants, The Elves and the very special "Skogsrået" (the forest lady) and the "Näck" - the naked fiddler in the stram....
Here, the tales and sagas still live. And it is not hard to understand... when night falls you may feel as someone is watching you and it might be difficult to know what one thinks one sees....
